Benchmark, Inc., a national roof and pavement consulting firm located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Structural Engineer. This is a new position. The primary responsibility of this professional role will be to conduct specialized structural analysis and inspections of client properties. This work would involve wide-ranging projects such as roof replacements, building envelope evaluations, parking deck waterproofing, and determining structural capacity for installation of solar panels.

Responsibilities would also include roof evaluations, roof replacement design, and technical report writing.

Requirements for the Structural Engineer position include:

• Experience in conducting structural assessments, site evaluations and sub-surface investigations of commercial properties
• Ability to develop technical reports, design specifications and also serve as technical resource for colleagues
• Familiarity with structural software and analysis/design programs a plus
• Professional engineering license required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Variable travel requirements
